Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Fly to Lulea in Swedish Lapland, where you will be met and transferred to Brändö where a welcome warming drink will be served around the open fire whilst you kit up with your arctic clothing.

Depending on your arrival time either snowmobile or 4WD to Pine Bay Lodge (Furufjärden in Swedish) over the frozen Archipelago. Start your northern lights holiday with hopefully a full horizon aurora over the frozen Bay of Bothnia.

Owner Goran Widen’s Pine Bay Lodge is situated on the coastal edge of the Luleå Archipelago, which has a total of 1300 islands and only 100 residents and is a unique wilderness environment where the sea around the island freezes up to a metre thick in winter. The lodge is a lovely traditional Swedish red cottage with a very homely feel. There are only eight ensuite guest rooms.

To kick-start your adventure you will head out on a Northern Lights Snowmobile Adventure and go hunting for the aurora borealis.

Day 2

Today you will head out on a exciting adventure with a full day of husky sledding. After breakfast you will be transferred to the husky base where you will get to meet your guides and your team of dogs.

Day 3

You’ll have the day to relax and can explore the surroundings with options of hiring snowshoes or cross-country skis. There are plenty of other excursions you might like to try too if you are feeling adventurous. Then in the evening you will head out for your final dinner with the incredibly popular Aurora Hideaway Dinner – a perfect way to end your trip with a unique experience which might also bring the chance of spotting some aurora too.

Day 4

Transfer from the property back to Lulea airport. Your trip doesn’t have to end here though as Lulea can open up a range of properties and places to discover – speak to our team about what options might be possible for you to extend your stay.
