The Volcanic Landscape of Iceland

By Jan Oborn | Blog, Iceland Holidays | Posted 15 Oct 2015

The Golden circle is a spectacular area in Iceland. The waterfalls, the geysers, the ‘rift’ in the tectonic plates are all great attractions for the tourists many of whom have never seen a volcano. It’s all in a day’s work for the Icelanders and of course they keep an eye out for predicted volcanic explosions etc but the guide Saeli who took us around, said he was not worried about the forces of nature- instead they tend to celebrate this nature.

About Jan Oborn

Jan lived in Hong Kong and Cyprus during her childhood as part of an RAF family which inspired the travel lust which has taken her to Iceland, Europe and Swedish Lapland in the last year!

Most of her working life has been spent in administration including time with the MOD but the prospect of travel (and seeing the Northern Lights) was too hard to resist joining us in 2014.
